I used to go to that when it was at 'The Mill at the Pier' so how long ago is that, and it was good, it had plenty of atmosphere, good ale, which I suppose you would sort of expect, a walk down from Wigan, and then a walk back up again, and because it was near the town centre, folk caught trains to it, and buses, but I only went once to it at Robin Park, I didn't enjoy suppin in a gym

Each to their own T2S. If the ale is good shut your eyes and imagine you're in your local There is an impressive list of real ale on offer

I like a good beer festival. In fact I like a good beer. Give me half a pint of a good thick 8% Double NEIPA over a pint of generic 4% bitter any day

I would disagree J3mbo , I like a good beer too but, If i drink a 8% beer, I would not enjoy any more, I'd be pizzed, I like a good tasting beer at 3.7% and enjoy a good gulp,,,,

I think you have to be a bit of like a wine buff but with ale to appreciate the different tastes and strength of all what is on offer to go to a beer festival.Either that or your not bothered and just want to get merry/drunk just like you would if you turned out for a drinking session any way Any excuse to sup ale.

tomplumb. I compared half a pint at 8% to a pint at 4%. Same amount of alcohol.

J3mbo I don't think it works that way. If I have a can of carling (4%) I can still function ok But if I have a can of special brew. I feel like Ive' drunk a bottle of wine, OK it might just be my tolerance to alcohol so, I steer clear of any beer over 4%,,,,

Tom when I get the chance to turn out I drink 0% lager . I go out in the car and it is a break away from the 4 walls and chance to have a natter. When at home I have a bottle of 5% lager a couple of times a week.

Peter if you had say, 3 pints of 0% lager and was stopped by the police, Would he smell the beer? , Just wondering, I know the breathalizer would read zero anyway but, It made me curious

Tom don't know about the breathalyser but when buying it at a supermarket self serve it still registers has alcohol. You do not need a drinks licence to sell it though
